Dr. nathan dame
Director of Choral Activities & Coordinator of Fine Arts - Wylie East HS
Dr. Nathan Dame is the Director of Choral Activities and Coordinator of Fine Arts at Wylie East High School, where he leads a nationally recognized choral program built on connection, excellence, and belonging. At the heart of his work is a simple belief: students grow best when they are challenged, supported, and part of something bigger than themselves.

At Wylie East, Dr. Dame directs the A Cappella Choir and oversees a program of over 500 singers across twelve ensembles, including a comprehensive tenor-bass pathway. Under his leadership, students consistently perform at the highest levels, with appearances at state and national conventions including the Texas Music Educators Association, Southwestern ACDA, and the National Tenor-Bass Seminar.

Dr. Dame holds a Ph.D. in Music Education (Choral Pedagogy) from the University of Kansas and serves as the American Choral Directors Association National Repertoire & Resources Chair for Tenor-Bass Choirs. He is an active clinician and conductor, working with honor choirs and programs across the country, and has been recognized as a finalist for the American Prize in Conducting and a member of Yamaha’s “40 Under 40” music educators.

While he is grateful for these opportunities, Dr. Dame measures success by the people his students become - leaders, collaborators, and individuals who carry music with them long after they leave the classroom. He is proud to teach alongside his wife, Ashley, and together they are committed to building a program where every student is known, valued, and inspired.
