Andrew Carr brings energy, connection, and a deep belief in the power of music to build both people and community.

 

At Wylie East High School, he serves as Associate Choral Director, leading ensembles including Out of the Blue, Bel Canto, and Concert Treble while collaborating across the program to support every singer’s growth.  He also serves as musical director for the annual campus musical.  Andrew is passionate about creating rehearsal spaces where students feel challenged, supported, and fully engaged. He believes that the process of making music together develops not only strong musicianship, but also character, confidence, and a sense of belonging that extends far beyond the classroom.

Before joining Wylie East, Andrew taught in Midland, Texas, where he worked extensively with freshman choirs and contributed to a thriving vertical program. He also previously served as Choral and Theatre Director in Nanuet, New York, working with students across grades 5–12. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Ithaca College and is an active member of TMEA and TCDA.

Andrew loves being part of the Raider Choir community and is committed to helping students discover their voice, connect with others, and experience the joy of making music together.
