Wylie East High School
The Wylie East High School Choirs are led by Dr. Nathan Dame, Mrs. Ashley Dame, and Mr. Andrew Carr. Consisting of more than 375 students in eleven performing ensembles, the Raider Choirs are frequent winners of local and regional choral contests, have been featured at the TMEA state convention, and are recent winners in the National Choral Honors. They have been featured on Dallas-Fort Worth’s FOX 4 and NBC 5, and have received multiple superior ratings and UIL Sweepstakes awards.
The Wylie East Choirs are passionate about providing unique musical and performance opportunities for their students, having recently collaborated with choirs and conductors from Louisiana State University, Brigham Young University, The University of Texas, The University of Oklahoma, Trinity University, Ouachita Baptist University, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, as well as area high schools. They frequently premiere new works for the choral catalog, including "If" (Jonathan Reid, TTBB, 2023), "Last Night of Winter" (Connor Koppin, TTBB, 2022), "Falling Stars" (Kevin Padworski, SATB, 2021), and "Measure Me, Sky" (Jonathan Reid, SATB, 2020).
They travel annually around the state, country, and internationally. Recent travels include: London, Colorado, Disney World, Branson, San Antonio, Houston, and Galveston. Choral ensembles include A Cappella Mixed Choir, Varsity Tenor-Bass Choir, Varsity Treble Choir, Bella Voce, Bel Canto, Select Tenor-Bass Choir, Select Treble Choir, Concert Treble Choir, Concert Tenor-Bass Choir, Out of the Blue, Blue Horizon, and Symphonic Chorale.
