Mr. Andrew Carr, Associate Director of Choirs, Wylie East HS

Andrew Carr, a native of Philadelphia, PA is ecstatic to be joining the choral team at Wylie East High School as Associate Director for the 2023-2024 school year. He joins the Raider Choirs after serving three years as Freshman Director at Legacy Freshman High School in Midland, TX, where he conducted 9th Grade Treble & Tenor-Bass choirs and served in assistant roles throughout the vertical program. Prior to his position in Midland, he was the Choral & Theater Director for Grades 5-12 in Nanuet Union Free School District in Nanuet, NY, and received his B.M. in Music Education & Vocal Performance from Ithaca College in 2017. 

 

Andrew is a member of TMEA & TCDA, and is passionate about the dynamic possibilities for character & community building that occur in the rehearsal and sharing of excellent choral music. When not teaching or making music, Andrew loves to bake, is a voracious reader, and looks forward to bringing his dog Jack along with him to the Metroplex for their next adventure. Go Raiders!
