2026-27 WEHS Choir Placements

We have had an outstanding year in the Wylie East Choir program, and we are incredibly proud of the work, growth, musicianship, and commitment our students have shown. As we begin preparing for next year, we are excited to share 2026-2027 choir placements.

Choir placements have been determined through a comprehensive process using the following criteria:

1) WEHS Choral Leadership/Audition Form

2) WEHS Choral Registration Form

3) Sight-Reading Levels 1-6, based on the student-chosen level

4) UIL Repertoire Demonstration

5) Choral Program Engagement & Participation

6) Written Exam

7) For Out of the Blue and Blue Horizon, all of the above criteria were considered in addition to guest judge scores from live auditions

Because choir placement can feel very personal, we know students may have strong emotions when placements are released. While we wish every student could be placed in the ensemble they most hoped for, placements must reflect the full process, the needs of each ensemble, and the information and evaluations provided to us by our outside panels of professionals who assist in reviewing all of submitted materials.

If you believe there is an error or need additional clarification about a placement, please contact us. We are more than happy to have a conversation. However, we respectfully ask that students and families wait 24 hours before reaching out. This window gives students time to self-reflect and consider whether all parts of the placement process were completed fully, accurately, and on time. It also allows everyone time to craft communication that is respectful, thoughtful, and productive.
