Mr. Riley Smith, Private Vocal Instructor, Burnett JH

Riley Smith is a passionate educator and loves to help students achieve their personal musical goals. He and his wife Katie are new to the DFW area. Prior to moving to Dallas, he worked as a middle school choir director at La Porte ISD in the Houston area, where choirs achieved excellence on both the concert stage and in the sight-reading room. A native Mississippian, Riley earned both his B.M. and M.M. from the University of Mississippi. As a choir student, he studied under award-winning conductor, Donald Trott.

As a voice student, Riley studied under Jennifer Robinson, Dr. Bradley Robinson, Dr. Jos Milton, and was coached by Prof. Amanda Johnson at the University of Mississippi. He played numerous roles in the Opera Theatre Program including Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola (scenes program) and Bassa Selim in Die Entführung aus dem Serail (scenes program) as a graduate student.

As a choral singer, Riley has performed with the Houston Choral Society, The Mississippi Chorus, and Jackson Choral Society (MS). Riley is thrilled to begin working with the students of Wylie ISD and help them grow in both their musical abilities and their passion for singing!
